I carry the white frame in stock but have to get black or wooden frames made up so would charge $10 more for one of those.

This is my home town. Every building and spot in this painting is part of my growing up story. From being measured as a wee tot in the plunked rooms, to ballet recitals in the opera house, and weekly Saturday morning walks to Kowhai park. This is the most easy to put together design I’ve ever done as it was simply all there inside of me wanting to come out. Me and my siblings all left Wanganui to begin our adult lives, but when our kids started coming the story began all over again with the grandparents.

The original was snapped up by  Michael Laws who was Mayor at the time even before the exhibition opened though he allowed me to still exhibit it. I’d taken the work to show him when I was asking him to open the exhibition. I could have sold that piece many time over and probably for more than what I hastily quoted. It now hangs in the Whanganui council chambers.
