These three paintings done in 2004 are little sweethearts. They are really fun and the fact that they are painted with extra detail down their deep canvas sides makes them even more cute. Occasionally there are originals you just decide to keep. This was the case with these three. I eventually sold the Oriental Bay original when pressed, as I had some extra tuition fees I needed for my kids at the time. Its absence broke up the series so my daughter with a bit of help from me, did a re painting of it which was actually pretty good, and completed the triplet again. Unfortunately she sold that one as well. Because most of my time in recent years has been focused on doing commissions, it’s been good to have these little paintings as samples of what an original acrylic on canvas looks like compared to a water colour. Seeing an image on screen is never the same as looking at the real thing.
